DUDLEY, Verneda Ila Brown, 85, of Rocky Mount, died Thursday, October 14, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Thomas Dudley; their only child, H. Hester Dudley; five brothers; and four sisters. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Shelby Dudley, Rocky Mount; her grandson and his wife, Randy and Michelle Maxey Dudley, Rocky Mount; two half sisters, Frances Graham, Boones Mill, Virginia Gallagher, Utah; a very special niece and her caregiver, Bonnie Harlow; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday in Flora Funeral Chapel with Dr. William Shively officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers and food, the family has requested memorial donations to the Franklin County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 147, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, S. Main St., Rocky Mount.
