Harry married Mary Morris Thurber on May 27, 1868. Mary preceded him in passing ten years prior to his death. His close friends served as pallbearers, with the O.L. Club members honorary pallbearers.

Harry was the brother of Mrs. James Armitage, Mrs. John Hogarth of Monroe, Mi, and Mrs. General Williams of Detroit, Mi. His father was a physician, druggist, occupying the drug store where the present Sackett drug store is located. Harry was a popular and galiant townsman, beloved by all. (Lo Marie)
Harry was laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery by his wife Mary.
