Dr. Philip Castleman Dies of Injuries
Boston, April 1 - - Dr. Philip Castleman, Deputy city health commissioner and instructor in bacteriology at the Harvard Medical school, died at a hospital early today from injuries sustained when he was struck by an automobile last night. He was crossing Commonwealth avenue, when knocked down by a car driven by Elliott B. Davidson of Mich., a senior at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Castleman since 1918 had been in charge of the laboratory department of the city hospital.
