Genevieve (née Lawlor) Kerns, 76, of Wilmette died May 1, 2000 at Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie. Mrs Kerns had lived in Wilmette since 1960. She was an avid tennis and bridge player. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence A. Kerns; son Lawrence (Elizabeth) Kerns of Barrington, Christopher (Shawn) Kerns of Glenview and Michael (Maryruth) Kerns of Evanston; daughters Mary (Michael) McIntyre of Northfield and Elisabeth (Peter) Cormier of Glenview; and sixteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Lawlor Jr., and her sister, Elizabeth Sullivan. A funeral Mass was celebrated May 4 at Sts. Faith, Hope and Charity Church, Winnetka. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wilmette.
