Born in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Gowren) Bieda.
Jeanette was a resident of the East Stroudsburg area for the past 64 years, moving here in 1940. Prior to that, she lived in the Bronx, N.Y. area for 13 years. In her early years, she resided in the Nanticoke area.
Jeanette owned and operated the former Rainbow Restaurant of Stroudsburg in her early years. Later on, she was employed as a waitress and also worked at the former Acme Market in East Stroudsburg for many years. She was a caregiver for many families throughout Monroe County. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, East Stroudsburg.
Surviving are three sons, Lawrence Stevens and his wife Joyce of St. Louis, Mo., Stanley Stevens and his wife Sylvia of Closter, N.J., and Theodore Stevens and his wife Betty Ann of Stroudsburg; two brothers, Clem Bieda of Bradenton, Fla., and Henry Bieda of Mountaintop; one sister, Rose Lazer of Nanticoke; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Celia Rostand, Loretta Suriani, and Helen Hansel; one brother, Louis Bieda; one daughter, Delores Kearney; and one son, Leo Lankowski.
