Moogy Childers Toccoa, GA Mr. Charles Alfred "Moogy" Childers, age 63 of E. Silver Shoals Road, Toccoa, GA passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010 at his residence. A son of Lois Simmons Childers and the late Charles Ray Childers, he was born January 15, 1947 in Greenville, SC having lived most of his life in Stephens County, Georgia.

Mr. Childers was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army, and was the Assistant Fire Chief with the City of Toccoa for a long number of years, a member of the Toccoa Masonic Lodge 309, a Shriner , a member of the American Legion Post 104, and a member of the Tugalo Baptist Church.

Moogy was owner and operator of the Mill Creek Gathering Place. Survivors include his mother Lois Simmons Childers of Toccoa, wife Peggy Collins Childers of the home, son, James "Thumper" Childers of Toccoa, 2 sisters, Marie & (Hollis) Gastley of Toccoa, Janie Burel of Dawsonville, GA, brother, John & (Becky) Childers of Toccoa, father-in-law, Curtis Collins of Toccoa, brother-in-law Randy & (Carol) Collins of Toccoa, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Harris Pressley officiating.

Pallbearers will be Hollis Gastley, Jake Childers, Rusty Mitchell, Chad Ayers, Josh Gastley and James Cleveland, Honorary Escort will be members of Toccoa Fire Department.

The family will be at the home of the son Mr. James "Thumper" Childers, 594 E. Silver Shoals Road, and will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
