The DeYoung Funeral.
Funeral services for Mrs. John DeYoung, who died Thursday afternoon at her home, 727 Congress, were held this morning at 10 o'clock at the First Presbyterian church. Rev. W.S. Dando, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Interment was in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers were W.E. Haynes, C.B. Smith, John Vandervelt, W.E. Anderson, J. Hollar and John Hoch. The following persons were among those from out of town who attended the funeral: Mrs. Guy Brysen, of Adams, Neb.; Mrs. Wilbur Taylor, of Lincoln, Neb.; D.P. DeYoung, of Avenel, N.J.; Adrian H. DeYoung, of New York, City; Mrs. Henry Onstead, of Emporia; Mrs. Ezra Snyder, of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Robert Adams, of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Philip Watkins, of Lincoln, Neb., who are eight of the nine children surviving Mrs. DeYoung; Peter Van Garp and Peter Van Sittert, Harve P. VanGarp, of Pella, Iowa; Anthony DeYoung and Mrs. Dennis Klein, of Firth, Neb., and Daniel Camp, of Adams, Neb.
Mrs. Jon (sp) DeYoung, whose maiden name was Clara Poss, was born May 5, 1856, at Marion county, Iowa. She was married to John DeYoung on January 1, 1874 at Pella, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. came to Emporia June 20, 1911. Mrs. DeYoung was a member of the First Presbyterian church. She is survived by her husband and ten children: Mrs. Guy Bryson, of Adams, Neb.; Mrs. Wilbur Taylor, of Denver, Colo.; D.P. DeYoung and Adrian DeYoung, of Avenel, New Jersey; Mrs. McGray Wilkinson, of Sask., Canada; Mrs. H.A. Onstead, of Emporia; Mrs. E.B. Snyder, of Chicago; Mrs. F.E. Woods, of Glendale, Calif.; Mrs. R.E. Adams, of Oklahoma City, Okla.. and Mrs. Phil Walkins, of Lincoln, Neb.
