Mary Vasser, 92, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012.

She was born August 28, 1920 in Atoka, Tennessee to Floyd E. and Mildred L. Faulkner Kelly.

Mary graduated at the age of 16 from Humes High School. She was a bookkeeper, retiring from the Veterans Administration first, and Drs Hampton Roy and Robert Berry the second time at the age of 75.

As a devoted member of the Levy United Methodist Church, she belonged to the Disciples Sunday School class, United Methodist Women, and often volunteered at their Wellness Clinic.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, William Thomas Pennington and Charles Vasser; daughter, Mary Ann Cox; and son-in-law Howard Cox.

Cherishing her memory are her three children, Betty Daniels (Neil) of Carlisle, Arkansas, Linda Gerrald of North Little Rock, and Bill Pennington (Wendy Marshall) of Clemson, South Carolina; brothers, Marion Kelly (Laurice) of Memphis, Tennessee, and Floyd Kelly Jr of California; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Stonehaven Assisted Living, Robinson Nursing and Healthcare, and Arkansas Hospice for all of their loving care.

A celebration of her life will be held at the gravesite at 10 a.m., Saturday September 22, 2012 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, with Rev. Jimmy Mosby officiating.
