Son of George and Christianna (Hotsinpiller) Rudolph. Married c.1818 to Catherine Secrist, daughter of Frederick and Catherine (Switzer) Secrist. When he married his father gave him a section of land near Zepp, Shenandoah Co. Va. where he and Catherine lived and farmed. Adam and Catherine had thirteen children, three of which died unnamed in infancy. Catherine died in childbirth in 1842 when her son Davis was born.

1. Simon Adam Rudolph, 1819-1863 married Catherine Ann Rudolph, 1819-1885. Simon died in the Civil War while serving as a private in Co.D, 11th Va. Cavalry.
2. Elizabeth Ann Rudolph, 1821-1887, married William Martin Snapp, 1822-1876.
3. Emily Rudolph, 1823-1877, married Joseph Francis Whittington, 1827-1901 After Emily died Joseph married her sister Harriet.
4. Marcella "Silla" Rudolph, 1825-1904, married John William Snapp, 1825-1900
5. Margaret Rudolph, 1827-1906 married Samuel Cooper, 1822-1900
6. Adeline Rudolph, Oct.14,1854-Dec.24,1888, married Lewis Whittington, 1827-?, they lived in Jefferson Co. WV.
7. Mary Catherine Rudolph, 1836-1914 married George Barks, 1834-1922
8. Harriet R. Rudolph, 1837-1890 married twice,first to Andrew J. Grove, 1836-1871 and second to Joseph F. Whittington, 1827-1901. Joseph was previously married to Harriet's sister Emily who died in 1877.
9. Henrietta "Nettie" Rudolph, 1841-1896 married George Henry Hammond, 1844-1910
10. Nashville Davis Rudolph, 1842-1922 married Sarah C. Richards, 1851-1935.
