George passed away at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody B.C. He is servived by his wife Bonnie Desautels and Daughter Yvette (Gilles) of Lorette MB ,and three childern from a previous marriage Bernard (Judy), Lloyd, and Dianne (Derek) all from Vancouver area. He also leaves his grandchildren, Corinne, Craig, Cameron, Sherrie, Charlene, Sanda, Debra of Vancouver and Rene and Lacey of Lorette.His brothers and sisters,Rene (Alma) Lorette. Albert (Rita) Winnipeg, Laurette (Leo) Winnipeg, Mary Anne (Jim) Belmout, Paul of Victoria, Fernand (Rose) Winnipeg and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
George was predeceased by his parents, Leandre and (Rose Gendron), an infant son Rene, numerous brothers, sisters one one grandchild. George was born in Ste. Anne, MB on December 7th 1918 . He was raised on the family farm, married Monica Slugett and moved to St.Vital. When he was a young man he moved his family to Vancouver, where he eventually met his second wife Bonnie, George was self employed as a carpenter working in this his whole life until illess forced retirement. He loved to play horseshoes, and travel, especially to Hawaii, he loved to tell jokes as he had a great sense of humour.
At George's request cremation has taken place. A small memorial service was held for immediate family and frends at his home in B.C. A funeral will be held at the Notre Dame de Lorette Catholic Church in Lorette on Saturday March 11 at 1;00PM with Rev Fr. Maurice Jeanneau officiating. Interment will follow in Lotette Cemetery.
