Ruth H. Henderson, 86, of Ottumwa, passed away at 11:15 am September 19, 2012 at her home.
She was born July 11, 1926, the daughter of Samuel Winfield and Sarah Elizabeth Montgomery Closser. She married Dean Henderson on November 25, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2001. Ruth had worked at Hamburger Inn and Frito Lay.
She attended Hickory Grove Community Church. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and cooking for others.
Surviving is her daughter, Amelia Kaye Henderson of Ottumwa; six sisters, Katherine Buchanan of Dow, IL, Dorothy Beiser of Jerseyville, IL, Geraldine Weaver of Independence, MO, Betty Jo(Al)Albrecht of Jerseyville, IL, Juanita Bonner of Floris and Marilyn(Gary)Lough of Iowa City; three brothers, Samuel W.(Shirley)Closser of Drakesville, LeeVern(Imogene)Closser of Delonga, IL and Richard(Connie)Closser of Floris.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Closser.
Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Byron Newland officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 am Friday with the family present from 6-7::30 pm Friday. Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties, Ottumwa, IA.
