Besides his wife, Mrs. R. M. Cook, he is survived by five daughters, Miss Nell Cook, Mrs. E. L. Russell, Mrs. John Walker, Mrs. John Tanner of Blue Ridge; six sons, J. C. Cook of New Mexico, Gordon Cook of Kennesaw, Hubert of Great Falls Mt., Clay of Acworth, Nellie and Roy, of Marietta; one sister, Miss Nannie Cook of Fort Benton, Mt.; four brothers,John and Robert both of Fort Benton, T.K. of Hemp, GA and Allen of Culbertson, NC.
Note: Rufus was the son of John Grant Cook and Elizabeth (Hurst?) from North Carolina, and was in the 1860 Cherokee County, NC census and in the 1870 Fannin County, Georgia census with 7 of his siblings still at home. The 1900 Fannin census lists 12 of the children of Rufus and Martha. She said she has had 13 children with 12 living at that time.
Rufus and his brother Robert married Bailey sisters - Martha and Nellie, daughters of Ansel and Rutha Tipton Bailey.
