Mrs. Julia (Alexander) Bartel, 73 of 158 Bridge Street, Raynham, a New Bedford native, died this morning at Morton Hospital following a one week illness. She was the widow of Manuel Bartel. A homemaker, she had worked for 12 years at Taunton State Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church, Raynham, and belonged to the Raynham Senior Citizens. Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Manuel P. and Frances Alexander, she had been a Raynham resident for the past 15 years. She is survived by four sons, Manuel Bartel of Raynham, Joseph Bartel of Wareham, Daniel Bartel of Brockton, and Richard A. Bartel of Taunton; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Dorothy) McGuiness of San Jose, CA, and Mrs. Thomas (Frances) Keogh of Raynham. Also one brother, Julius Alexander of North Dartmouth; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Botelho of New Bedford; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Silva Funeral Home Wednesday Jan 16 at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Anne's Church at 9 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
