William Robert Riley, aged 68, a life long resident of Huntsville, died at his home on Clay Street in this city, Tuesday, afternoon, about 2 o'clock. Mr. Riley ad been ill with asthma for about eleven months.
He was a son of Robert and Barbara Ellen Riley, who were also lifelong residents of Huntsville. He was born on December 13, 1861 and his education was received in the Huntsville schools. June 3, 1884 he was married to Sarah Alolen also of Huntsville, who survives him.
Until his illness, about eleven months ago he had been employed as a miner.
Besides his widow, Mr. Riley is survived by six daughters: Mrs. Ben J. Morris, of Kansas City, Kansas; Mrs. H. S. VanDyne, and Mrs. A. D. Coons, both of Kansas City, Kansas; Mrs. George Aldridge of Glen Ellyn, Ill; Mrs. J. C. Miles of Richmond, Kentucky; and Mrs. C. E. Tyree of Moberly; two sons, Roy Robert Riley of Kansas City, and Thurman Riley at home.
There are eleven grandchildren: Hesel, Thelma, Barbara and Herbert VanDyne; Nadino, Herbert and Ethel Louise Morris, Mrs. Ursell D. Frieze, George and Harold Aldridge and Edward Lee Tyree. Two brothers are: Fred Riley of Des Moines, Ia., andt. D. Riley. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services wee conducted by Rev. F. L. Alexander at Baptist church in Huntsville at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the Huntsville city cemetery.
