FORMER SYRACUSE RESIDENT DIES IN OMAHA HOSPITAL
Charles Teel Succumbs After Long Illness-Was Veteran Of World War
HAD BEEN ILL FOR LAST THREE YEARS
Mrs. C.H. Thoms received a message Sunday telling of the death in an Omaha hospital that day of her son-in-law, Charles Teel, and left for Nebraska City that evening to be with her daughter, whose home is in that city, when the remains of the deceased were brought home.
Mr. Teel resided in Syracuse for some time, a few years ago and was at one time village marshall. Mr. Teel was a veteran of the world war and for the past few years has been an almost constant sufferer from Illness which was thought to be the result of injuries received in the service.
For the past three years he had spent much of his time in hospitals and underwent several operations, but they afforded but temporary relief.
Mr. Teel was born at McCook, Nebr. October 3, 1893, and attended the schools of that county. In 1920, he was united in marriage with Miss. Clara M. Thoms, who with six children, Dean, Charles, Lyle, Thomas, Ramona and Merlyn, survive him. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. E.N. Teel of Lost Springs, Kansas, four brothers and one sister. Other relatives and a host of friends also mourn his departure.
The remains were brought to Nebraska City to the Porter funeral parlors and services were held Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock from the Christian Church and burial in Wyuka cemetery, services at the grave being in charge of the American Legion.
