Mildred Mary Rodgers was born in East Newark, New Jersey on September 17, 1929. She was the daughter of Hugh and Mildred Van Blarcom-Rodgers.

In her younger years, Mitzie, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, worked at Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, New Jersey.

On July 21, 1951, she married her sweetheart Robert Taylor and after the birth of their two daughters, Mitzie stayed home dedicating her life to raising her family.

After her children were grown, Mitzie was employed in the security department of Hahne's & Company, a department store located in Newark, New Jersey.

On the morning of Thursday, June 10, 1982, her youngest daughter Roberta dropped Mitzie off at Hahne's Department store in Newark, New Jersey to go to work. By that same afternoon, while in the ladies room of the department store, Mitzie had a massive heart attack and died.

Surviving Mitzie were her beloved husband of thirty years, Robert Taylor, her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Louise Taylor-McGarry and Jack McGarry of Bloomfield, New Jersey and Roberta Taylor-Cappiello and William Cappiello of Kearny, New Jersey.

Mildred was the light of her family's lives ~ she is dearly missed by all of them.

She was interred on June 14, 1982 in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey in Plot 52 A K 40 1A.
