A memorial service for Nona Bell Beason, 75, of DeBerry will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home under the direction of Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Beason died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, in Shreveport, La. She was born Feb. 9, 1934, in DeBerry to Minor Wimberly Gibbs and Nobie Mae Timmons Gibbs. Mrs. Beason was a rural mail carrier from 1976 to 1999. She was a member of DeBerry Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Donnie Beason of Carthage and Jami Beason of Shreveport, La.; daughters, Gayle Walker of Hallsville and Janet Rogers of Shreveport; brothers, Floyd "Buddy" Gibbs of DeBerry, Blackie Gibbs of Longview and Minor "Chubbie" Gibbs of Canton, Mo; and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
