The Matson family lived in Mercer County until the spring of 1877, when the family moved to Sumner County, Kansas and located 5 miles south of Argonia.
Marian Eliza Matson married Simon Franklin Dobson, February 16, 1888 in Wellington, Sumner County, Kansas. Six children were born in Sumner County. Four of these children, Eliza A., Stella, Sallie, and Jim, died in infancy or early childhood.
