OPELOUSAS — Mrs. Lloyd J. Brusse, 52, Opelousas, record consultant for the southwest area of the Louisiana Department of Health, died at 10:30 p.m. yesterday at Opelousas General Hospital following an illness of a few hours.

Mrs. Brusse's body is at Lafond and Son Funeral Home in Opelousas.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home, with Rabbi Marvin M. Reznikoff of Liberal Synagogue of Baton Rouge officiating.

Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

She was the former Velma Pressburg, daughter of the late Israel and Vita Maples Pressburg. Mrs. Brusse graduated from Opelousas High School and began her 30-year career in public health service with the St. Landry Parish Health Unit in Opelousas.

Mrs. Brusse was a member and past president of the Louisiana Public Health Association. She was cited recently by the Louisiana Department of Health for having saved the life of a fellow worker by applying mouth-to-mouth breathing.

Mrs. Brusse is survived by her husband, Lloyd J. Brusse, Opelousas; one brother, Ben Pressburg, Opelousas, and one sister, Mrs. Jerry Alexander, Hattiesburg, Miss.
