She was born in a family of Siberian Jewish lifestyle that is very different from the traditional view of the Jews living in the European part of Russia, particularly in the Pale of Settlement, marked by greater self-confidence, a keen sense of self-esteem and resilience. Her mother Tatiana Matveyevna Bonner early widowed, left without any means of three young children, she began to work and was able to give their children an education. She's the one who had a great influence on the character of Lucy. Still very young, she participated in the civil war in the Far East, she studied at the TAS (Communist University of the Toilers of the East), and then worked in Central Asia, in Leningrad, Moscow party work. She had two children. My future wife - the eldest, was born in 1923. Her younger brother Igor for four and a half years.
