NICKERSON - Sharon Irene Gronwick, 48, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

She was born in Heidelberg, Germany, on July 21, 1964, the daughter of James Powell and Donna King.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Nickerson. Sharon was a homemaker. On Nov. 29, 1986, she married Richard Gronwick in Vicktorville , Calif. They divorced.

She is survived by: a daughter, Terah Hicks and husband Ronald of Nickerson; two sisters, Donna Bugner of Nickerson, Debbie Thurman of Lyons; four brothers, Andy Gardner, John Powell and Jeff Payne, all of Nickerson, and David Gardner of Hutchinson; stepfather, Kenny King of Nickerson; stepbrother, Douglas Payne of Checotah, Okla.; a stepsister, Virginia Johnson of Egypt; two grandchildren, Brenton Powell and Annabel Hicks; and her companion, Bobby Jo Manwarren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas James "TJ" Powell; and a stepsister, Mandy Payne.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at First Baptist Church, Nickerson, with Pastor Brad Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
