EKEBLAD, Doris Jean (nee:Collins) Sheehan 95, of Shell Point Retirement Community, Fort Myers, FL, passed away in Fort Myers on Friday, September 14th. She had been a resident at Shell Point since 1994. She was born August 22, 1917, in Oakwood, OH, the daughter of Clarence S. and Mary Estella (Pierson) Collins. She was a graduate of Oakwood High School, class of 1936. She was employed as an administrative assistant at NCR between 1936 and 1951. In March of 1951 she was married to John J. Sheehan, who died in October of 1990. Doris and John owned and operated a pork producing farm on Lower Springboro Road in Clearcreek Township for 40 years. During which time she was the organizational advisor for the Ridgeville Sunny Shamrocks 4-H club, the second oldest club in the state of Ohio. They were members of the Franklin Farmers Club, the Happy Harvesters Farm Council and the Springboro Grange. She was an active volunteer at Shell Point Retirement Community for 12 years.

Doris was married to Fred Ekeblad in April of 2002 and Fred died in March of 2011. She is survived by her son-in-law Jeff Gruber of Charlotte, NC and special friends Lenny and Angela Katz of Cape Coral, FL; Len and Nancy Sholder of Lebanon, OH and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Susan in 2004. Also predeceased are her parents and six brothers, Cecil A., Frank W., Robert P, William M., Clarence E., Reynolds D., and two sisters; Helen and Madge.
