MUNCIE--Elsie Ruth Spurlock, 76, died Tuesday evening, June 29, 2004 at The Woodlands following an extended illness.
She was born September 18, 1927 in Morehead, KY, the daughter of Jesse and Verna (Caudill) Harris, grew up in Kentucky and came to Muncie in 1944. Mrs. Spurlock was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Kelly Spurlock; three daughters, Donna J. (husband-Gerry) Mongold of Mitchell, IN, Marilyn J. (husband-Mike) King of Spring Hill, TN, and Debra K. (husband-Kent) Clements of Selma, IN; three brothers, Glenn Harris of Muncie, IN, Eugene (wife-Vernice) Kissick of Morehead, KY, and Billy Kissick of Morehead, KY; two sisters, Ann (husband-Charles) Mayhall of Louisville, KY, and Viola (husband-Paul) Palmer of Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren, Kelllie (husband-Jerry) Cardwell of Jeffersonville, IN, Bradley (wife-Patty) King of Chapel Hill, TN, Veda Mongold of Mitchell, IN, Ryan King of Memphis, TN, and Lesley Clements of Selma, IN; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2004 at PARSON MORTUARY with Rev. Kenneth Boles officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. The family will receive friends at PARSON MORTUARY from 5-8 p.m. Thursday or an hour prior to the services on Friday.
