Margaretha was born in Hasselbach to her parents Heinrich Jacob & Maria Juliana Klumb. She and her sister M. Katherina left Antwerp, Belgium with their parents on the ship "Charles Keen" and arrived in New York, New York on 10 May 1854. She married Johann Petri on 26 February 1859 in Germantown Township, Washington County, Wisconsin and her sister Katharina married Wendel Petri on 5 June 1857 in the Wayne Township, Washington County, Wisconsin. She died at her Wayne Township, Washington County, Wisconsin home. Obituary was published in Kewaskum Statesman on 7 June 1913.
