Billy (Bill) Don McDaniel was born in Dallas, Texas on April 16th, 1950 to Billy Frank and Dorothy Lee (Anthony) McDaniel. Both of his parents, his step-mother (Edith) his younger brother, Stephen, and his son, Christopher preceded him in death.

In 1968, Billy fibbed about his age and at the age of 17, he joined the Marines Corps in San Diego, California, and was sent to Viet Nam alongside of my brother, Paul (that's how we met).

We were married in Phoenix, Arizona in 1974. We had a son by the name of Christopher who was born on February 5th and passed away just six weeks later of SIDS on March 15th, 1975.

Our beautiful daughter, Dorothy, was born on October 17, 1978. She was a Daddy's girl in every way. Billy had the greatest sense of humor; he loved to tell jokes.

He was always friendly and gracious to our families and friends. I couldn't have asked for a better husband but in 1983, after 9 years of marriage, we went our separate ways but we remained friends throughout the years.

On September 12, 2000 Dorothy gave birth to his first grandson, Caden, and on November 3, 2003 Brian was born. Dorothy plans to tell them about their Grandpa as they get older. Billy also had a beautiful son by another marriage, his name was Kyle Jordan; he was born on July 11, 1987 and passed away on March 4, 2005.

Billy's sister (Debbie Lynn Mabry) passed away on December 17, 2002 in Alpharetta, Georgia. She was the sweetest, kindest person; Dorothy and I loved her dearly. She always remained family to us and is truly missed.

Billy was a good man and we pray that he has found peace. He has, with God's help, answered our prayers numerous times. He was loved and is truly missed by everyone who knew him.
