MEMORIUM Iron River Reporter August 27 2003 "Our Sincere Thanks"
The family of Klint Safford would like to thank all the wonderful people who expressed sympathy to us at the time of his death. We are thankful to those who brought food, sent flowers or cards, or offered prayers, but more than anything we are grateful for your words of support which were a comfort to us. We are especially grateful to the United Methodist Women who prepared and served the luncheon, and to Terry Langenberg and his staff who handled the funeral arrangements in a way that eased our worries. Klint cared deeply about this community, and it was wonderful to see that the community also cared about him and his family. Your thoughtfulness and kindness will never, ever be forgotten.

MEMORIAM Iron County Reporter Aug 13 2008
"In Loving Memory of Klint Safford October 28 1950-August 13 2003"
It's been five years since you left us,
We miss you every day.
You had so much to offer
Why did God take you away?
You missed your boys in high school,
Sam directed Orchestra and Band,
Luke played varsity basketball
Just like you both had planned.
Your high school number 44
He wore with so much pride,
And Sam went out for football
That was a big surprise!
Sandy, Jackie, Holly
All are college grads.
Your brother Duke has joined you
Which made us very sad.
The years are passing by now,
As rapidly they do.
Iron River was your concern,
Your friends they miss you too.
We know you are with Jesus,
Your diabetes is no more.
We'll live Christian lives and join you
Someday at Heaven's door.

TELL A FUNNY STORY ABOUT YOURSELF: When I was in the fifth grade, we were gathering firewood for the fireplace. A log fell down and pinched my thumb against another log, cutting the end of my thumb off. When we called the doctor, he told us to find the end of the finger so he could sew it back on. We couldn't find it because some fresh snow had fallen. In the spring my brothers and I found a glove at the scene. When I put my hand in it, there was the end of my thumb.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THAT, KLINT. I have another one...when I was in the second grade, I took my dad's hatchet...
I DON'T KNOW IF WE WANT TO HEAR THIS. No, this is okay. I took the hatchet and girded a nice maple in the yard. When my dad found out, he asked me who did it and why. I said I did, and I wanted to see how sharp the hatchet was. For my honesty, I got a belt lickin' with my brothers watching. I often think of what George Washington really got when he chopped down that cherry tree.
