Jason McWilliams Gordon, 70, of Milton passed away July 1, 2014.
Jason Gordon was born June 29, 1944. He was educated in the Santa Rosa County School System and a member of the TR Jackson High School graduating class of 1962. Jason loved playing the trombone in the marching and concert band at TR Jackson High and went even further to become a member of the Florida A&M University Marching "100" and Concert Band.
Jason was blessed to be married to his childhood sweetheart, the late Cora Elizabeth Riley. After completing high school the two of them relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where they raised their three children. It was both of their desire to move back home to be closer to their parents and loved ones. Their children are comforted in knowing that they are laid in rest together.
Jason retired from the United States Postal Service, the Baltimore Branch, in 2004 after 33 years of faithful service. He later returned to his home in Milton, Florida and obeyed the Gospel of Christ and was added to the body of Christ.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his three children: Vencent Gordon, (MSgt USAF Ret) and his wife the former Karen Hodrick, Mountain Home, Idaho; Sophia Gordon, Huntsville, Alabama; and Jonathan Gordon, (SFC USA Ret) and his wife the former Jackie Tanner, Tucson, Arizona; Five grandchildren, Travis – USAF Honor Guard, Washington D.C., Tracey – Idaho State University, Anthony, Joseph, and Cora, Tucson, Arizona; his loving mother, Berdia Lee Gordon, Milton, Florida; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and a special friend like a brother, Wayne Hodrick, Milton, Florida.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Susan Street Church of Christ, Milton, FL.
