Cycle Accident Takes 2nd Life
Injuries Prove Fatal to Allen EuDaly, 40, Local Factoryman
Allen J. EuDaly, 40, of north of Columbus, died at 3:15 o'clock Monday afternoon in Bartholomew county hospital, the second victim of a motorcycle crash Saturday night on River road north of the city.
Mr. EuDaly suffered broken legs, broken arms and other injuries. His condition had remained critical although he was able to talk with authorities following the accident.
Scott O. Hubbard, 33, 223 Lafayette avenue, passenger on the cycle operated by Mr. EuDaly, was dead when authorities reached the scene of the accident.
The two men were employed together as mechanics at Reliance Manufacturing company and had taken a ride on the cycle north from the EuDaly home on River road.
Goes Over Bank
The cycle missed a sharp curve at the northwest corner of Atterbury Air field, careened down a 20-foot drop and came to a stop 100 feet from the road. Mr. EuDaly purchased the used motorcycle two weeks ago.
Funeral services for Mr. EuDaly will be held at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Hathaway Funeral home here, conducted by the Rev. A. S. Woodard, pastor of First Methodist church, and the Rev. Alvin A. Cohn, pastor of Seymour Baptist church.
The casket will be open at the funeral home from Wednesday noon until time of services. Burial will be made in Garland Brook Cemetery.
At Reliance 9 Years
Mr. EuDaly is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth EuDaly; a daughter, Maxine, 13 years old, and his mother, Mrs. Nellie EuDaly Pogue of Seymour.
He had been employed by Reliance Manufacturing company for nine years.
Mr. EuDaly was born at Seymour Jan. 16, 1910, and was a son of John H. and Nellie EuDaly.
Funeral services were to be held this afternoon at Austin for Mr. Hubbard and burial made there. Mr. Hubbard was a native of Austin.
