Funeral services for Opal Brewer, age 92, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Johnston, Dr. Shawn Brewer and Rev. Brian Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with grandsons, Shawn Brewer, Brian Brewer, Brandon Brewer and Casey Brewer, great-grandsons, Austin Brewer, Colton Brewer, Clay Brewer and Spencer Brewer serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy Sunday School Class. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to service time at First Baptist Church. Opal passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Opal was born on July 16, 1920, in Mt. Vernon, Texas, the daughter of Luther D. and Mae (Clark) Hunnicutt. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1937 as Salutatorian. She married Warren N. Brewer on Christmas Day in 1941. He passed away on July 24, 1012, after over 70 years of marriage. Opal was a homemaker while their children were you, and then worked at Piggly Wiggly for over 20 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church for over 64 years, and taught Sunday school for many years. She is survived by 2 sons: Warren Brewer, Jr., David Brewer and wife Jo Beth all of Sulphur Springs, 7 grandchildren: Shawn Brewer and wife Lauri, Brian Brewer and wife Jeannie, C. J. Ghaemmeghami and husband Ommid, Sarah Palmer and husband John, Whitney Brewer, Brandon Brewer and wife Kristi and Casey Brewer and wife Dana, 14 great-grandchildren: Cara, Clay and Colton Brewer, Austin and Autumn Brewer, Makenzie, Madison and Cameron Ghaemmeghami, Spencer, Braylea and Benjamin Brewer, Harleigh, Elly and Jack Brewer, and one sister, Dovie Loyd. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Earl and Fred Hunnicutt, and sisters, Lily Mae Lee and Rosa Moore. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 116 Oak Avenue, Sulphur Springs, Texas, 75482, or to any ministry or organization of choice.
