Helen Bailey dies Sunday

Crawfordsville - Helen Bailey, 97 of Crawfordsville, died Nov. 21, 1993, at Bluff Terrace Nursing Home, Clinton, following poor health over the past year.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington, with the Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Burial will also be held at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Visitation begins Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home, Washington.

Helen Bailey was born June 7, 1896, at Winfield to Addison and Julia B. (Long) Sewell. She was educated in the Crawfordsville area. She married William Frank Bailey on Dec. 2, 1914, at Washington. She lived most of her life in the Crawfordsville community. Since 1980 she lived near her family in Clinton. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville.

Survivors include several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972, two sons and two sisters.
