William J. Womack was born in Washington County, Arkansas. Lived in Parker County, Texas from 1856 to 1876.

William J. Womack served in the 19th Texas Calvary, Company F From 1862 through the duration of the civil war. William J. Womack served as Fourth Cpl. Company F was mustered into service in June 1862 in Weatherford, Texas. Capt. Ball was promoted from First Lieutenant to Captain of this company in February of 1863 when Capt. Saunders resigned. The company was disbanded at Grimes Prairie near Houston.
