His wife's name was Sarah Elizabeth Alexander and they married 8 Mar 1862 in GA. He was the son of William Herbert Trout and Mary G. Braziel. Father of six children.

Enlisted March 4, 1862 at Jefferson Co., GA.He was captured on July 4, 1863 at Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was wounded on July 22, 1864 near the Troup House near Atlanta. He was captured again in Athens, GA on May 8, 1865 and then paroled.

George P. Trout, 83, of 46 Crogg street, died Thursday at the residence. Mr. Trout is survived by two sons, J.F. and John Trout: four daughters, Mrs. Etta Evans, Mrs. Mollie Breazeale, Mrs. T.J. Morrison and Mrs. W.O. Cain, and two brothers, N.G. and J.F. Trout. Harry G. Poole in charge.

Morrison, of Arnoldville, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Cain of Lawrenceville, Ga.; Mr. N.G. Trout, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Trout of Austin, Ark., are invited to attend the funeral of Mr. George P. Trout this (Friday) afternoon at 3 o'clock from the graveside, at Stone Mountain. Interment churchyard. Harry G. Poole, funeral director.
