Born October 21, 1920 in Pleasant Grove to James Warren Beers and Emma Zina Freestone. Married V. Beth Williams on November 22, 1946 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He was an elder in the West Jordan River 6th Ward. He served in many church positions including ward clerk, Sunday School Presidency and Stake Dance director. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. Ken loved hunting, fishing and boating. He was an avid reader and enjoyed farming and raising livestock. He was a hard worker and after retiring as a federal employee at Tooele Army Depot, he enjoyed owning and operating his own meat cutting business, K and J Custom Meats. He especially enjoyed his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
Survived by his devoted wife, Beth; son, Jamie (Lynnette), South Jordan; daughters, Carrie Sue Minnoch (Dee), Ogden; and Jennie Porter (Robin), West Point; grandchildren, Michael (Gen), Julie, Shaun (Minnoch); Melanie, Annalyn, Natasha, Vanessa (Beers); Shannon, Chad, Ryan (Porter); and his sister, June Salisbury, Pleasant Grove. Preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 1998 at 1 p.m. at West Jordan River 6th Ward, 7350 So. 1300 West, West Jordan. Family and friends may call on Friday evening, August 7, from 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State Street, Midvale and Saturday, one hour prior to service. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
