Actor. Born in Wisconsin, he appeared in over 270 films between 1935 and 1966. His movie credits included "Fury" (1936), "The Strawberry Blonde" (1941), "Yankee Doodle Dandy" (1942), "An American in Paris" (1951), "Gentlemen Prefer Blonds" (1953) and "Around the World in 80 Days" (1956). He also appeared on television in "Peter Gunn", "Lawman", "The Twilight Zone", "The Fugitive" and 33 episodes of "Riverboat".
