Flurry was the son of James (Jim) and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Martin Johnson and the husband of Audie Powell Johnson. They were the parents of Melba Joyce, Edgar Neal, Stella Louise, Farrell Clayton, Terry Lynn, Linda Fay, Donald Dewayne, Emily Grace and Margaret Elizabeth Johnson. Flurry's body was found in Lufkin Courts on West Denman Avenue, and the Lufkin County Coroner ruled his death as on-or-about November 14, 1961 of coronary occlusion and ASHD.
