EMILE E.L. STAEHLE CLAIMED BY DEATH
Was Factory Executive, Vice-President of Board of Commerce

Emil E. L. Staehle, retired industrial executive and for 30 years a resident of Saginaw, died Tuesday night at his residence 315 South Weadock avenue, after an illness of four weeks. He was plant manage (sic) of Werner & Pfleins (sic) Co. Inc. from 1903 until 1917 and at one time served as vice-president of the Saginaw Board of Commerce, a duty to which he devoted much earnest attention.

Mr. Staehle, an ardent stamp collector, had built up one of the finest philately displays in this section of the state. He traveled extensively and had received a broad education.

Born June 15, 1861 at Morrhardt, Germany, he married Miss Leonora A. Lawday of England, June 15, 1893 in Germany. They subsequently made their home in Germany, England,Ceylon and Saginaw.

He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, and of the Rotary club.

Mr. Staehle leaves his widow, a son, Alfred M. Staehle in New York City, and a brother and niece living in Germany.

The funeral will tage (sic) place at 4 p.m. Thursday at the residence. Myron Lepper will read the service. The body will be placed Oakwood Mausoleum.
