Osceola - Beulah A. Calhoun, 78, of 10584 Fairview Ave., died at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, after an illness. Mrs. Calhoun was formerly employed by St. Joseph Hospital in housekeeping. She was born July 24, 1914, in Roan Mountain, Tenn., and lived in South Bend since 1951, coming from Tennessee. On April 10, 1934, in Tennessee, she married Tate Calhoun. He died July 5, 1983. She is survived by five daughters, Janet Wingett, Annette Rorie, Norma Walker, and Charlotte Suetkamp, all of Osceola, and Naomi Smith of Elkhart; two sons James and John, both of Osceola; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Davis of Erwin, Tenn., and Ira Miller of Erwin; and a brother, Frank Birchfield of Roan Mountain. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
