OBITUARY -- Waukesha Freeman

Ronald J. "Ron" Beranek of Waukesha died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at LindenGrove at the age of 75. He was born Oct. 31, 1935, in Waukesha, the son of Thomas and Leora (nee Fuhrman) Beranek.

He graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1953 where he was proud to be a varsity letter winner in football and track. Ron was united in marriage to Yvonne Kramer on Sept. 28, 1957. He served his country in the National Guard after high school. After working in sales in the oil business for many years, he became an owner of a convenience store, Summit C-Store, in Waukesha. Obtaining a real estate license in 1966, he also worked as a real estate salesman and residential appraiser until 1994. Ron was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waukesha for more than 45 years, serving on the parish council and acting as council president. Ron also enjoyed being a member of the St. Mary's and St. John Neumann's choirs. He had a great love for Catholic Memorial High School and was an avid fan of Crusader sports' teams.

Ron will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Yvonne Beranek of Waukesha; four daughters, Lisa (Edward) Terasa of Waukesha, Lynn (Jeffrey) Pronschinske of Waukesha, Lori (Kevin) Quirk of Atlanta and Jennifer Reidy (Michael) Straughn of Aurora, Ill. He was a loving "Papa" to his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily and Julia Terasa, Alexander and Annelise Pronschinske, Connor, Natalia and Aidan Quirk, Madalyn and Avery Reidy, and Emily and Liam Straughn. He is also survived by his brothers, Donald (Judith) Beranek, Conald (Avis) Beranek and Robert (Sharyl) Beranek; sisters, Joan Linde, Jean Beranek and Jane (Ronald) Pease; and brother-in-law, Paul (Aljea) Kramer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his dog, Holly.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral Mass on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Howard Haase will preside. Burial will immediately follow at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Eagle.
