MUNCIE--John M. Wake, 70, 2410 S. Meeker Ave., died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Wake was born in Muncie and attended Central High School. He worked at Indiana Bridge Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1984 and was a member and past president of United Steel Workers of America local. He was a former member of Eagles Lodge adn was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Madonna (Gragg) Wake; three sons, John A. Wake (wife-Julie), Stanley d. Wake (wife-Mary), and Scott M. Wake; two daughters, Peggy Barker (husband-Danny) and Anna Jane Reed (husband-Andy); a brother, Merle Wake (wife-Donna); four sisters, Wanda Clark (husband-Charles), Juanita Brenner (husband-Oral), Joan Swift (husband-Melvin), and Alice Marienau; 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Parson Mortuary. Burial, with military rites, will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and a half-hour before services Thursday at Parson Mortuary.
