UTTER RITES
Services for Mrs. William Utter, 77, who died at the Bemidji Hospital Aug 9, were held at St. Philips Catholic Church Monday morning. The Rev. Henry Carrier of Argyle officiated with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of the Olson Schwarz Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Vance Jackovich, Jim Welle, Dick Jorstad, Tony Todavich, Bernard & Mickey Mistic.

Laura E. Utter was born at Albany, NY, May 1, 1897, (to Joseph J. Leeson & Ida May Everett Leeson Douglas Ball) and moved to northern Minnesota as a girl, living in the NARY* Community. She was married to John E. Drury Dec 9 1914. He abandon her and his two small daughters. Laura had to find work, put her girls in an orphanage until she could get an income for her family. Her daughters accidentally got adopted out separately. It took Laura years until she could find her daughters.) She then married William H. Utter Feb 12, 1923 and had resided in Bemidji all her married life.

Surviving besides her husband are a son, William Jr. Utter of Richfield, MN, four daughters, Mrs. Frank (Irene) Buck and Mrs. David
(Florence) Lohn of Minneapolis, Mrs. Joe (Delores) Jackovich of Fairbanks Alaska, and Mrs. Charles (Katherine) Hasenyager of Portland Oregon; 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Ralph Dreher, and Mrs. Ray Stafford of Syracuse NY,
a brother Howard Leeson of CA. (and sisters: Edith R. & Alice May)(1/2 sisters: Lillian Douglas Boyle & Rosemary (Mrs. Mitchell Rivetts)(Mrs. George Kilmer)

Services will be held at 9 am on Monday August 12, at St. Phillip's Church for Mrs. Laura Utter 77, of Northland Apartments who passed away Aug. 9, at the Bemidji Hospital. A wake will be held Sunday 7:20 pm at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home.

***Laura Utter was married to my great grandfather John Drury. His whereabouts became unknown. He left Laura 3-27-1921. Non contested divorce 10-19-1922 to 1-23-1923 finalized. A lawyer tried to find him with the possibility of him being in Marshalltown, IA. Which was unsuccessful. No one knows what happened to him. I have been searching for years with no luck. Anyone know more about John Drury, please contact me. Where is he buried? Who were his parents....
