Actor. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a performer most noted as a military technical adviser of films and television series of the 1950s and 1960s. After serving cavalry officer in the US Army during World War I, he was an adviser and tack master for various Hollywood studios. For films he not only advised but appeared in 20 films such as "The Reckless Way" (1936), "Men of Texas" (1942), "The Seventh Cross" (1944), "Arrowhead" (1953) and "A Distant Trumpet" (1964). Also before he retired in 1964, he was a technical advisor for 32 episodes of the TV series "Bonanza". He died of a heart attack at age 68 in San Fernando, California.
