Funeral services wre held at the Steele Church of Christ for Lemmie T. Burton Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Burton died Monday morning, February 22, 1960, in Memphis, at the age of 63. Bro. Cleo Blue officiated.
Mr. Burton is a native of Steele where he was a barber for many years. He left Steele ten years ago and was living in Memphis at the time of his death.
Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with the German Funeral Home of Steele in charge. Pallbearers were Irby Davis, C.S. Allbritton, Bob Tatum, Allen Oates, Clarence Poteet and John Oates.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lela Burton; three sons, James L., Rhondal and Perry Burton, and nine grandchildren, all of Memphis; one brother, Harry Burton, Steele; and three sisters, Mrs. Mae Wall, Mrs. Ona Graham and Mrs. Lennie Ketchum, all of Steele.
