Military Note: Weymouth was part of Suffolk county until 26 Mar 1793, so at this time, all Weymouth companies were under the command of Col. Solomon Lovell either before the battle at Lexington and Concord, or at the close (Apr 1775) of this battle. He didn't transfer to Boston (Castle and Governors Islands) until just bef 4 Apr 1776, before that, he was stationed at Weymouth. This is why you are seeing the two different locations for these soldiers when Capt Trufant was under his command.

Father: Joseph Trufant b. 5 May 1701 d. 1772
Mother: Sarah Porter
Spouse: Deborah Colson m. 14 May 1761 b. 13 Oct 1743 dau of John & Deborah (Sprague) Colson)

Personal Note: I've never seen anybody in the capacity of Captain retire in the middle of a war, but I think that is what happened. I am unable to find his Will nor his Pension. His father made his Will 6 Jan 1772, being of "perfect mind" and fearing for the mortality of his body. Family has found "Graves of Revolutionary War Patriots list a Jonathan Trufant buried on Front Street Cemetery, Weymouth MA 50"; Joseph Trufant's father was not in the Revolutionary War. This family was from South Weymouth and Abington did rec'v some of the records. From what I can see from the different records, they were off Front St and inside the Weymouth boundary. Christopher was b. 1782 at Weymouth and his dau, Deborah m. 1787 at Groton; so they removed from Weymouth 1783-1786 to Groton.
