Joyce Y. Alderson, 77 of Honesdale, died on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Alderson on May 7, 1999.
Born on October 8, 1934 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Esther Tagler. Joyce and her husband owned and operated a bar before moving to Honesdale. Later she worked at Dave's Super Duper where she was well known for colorful jokes and great sense of humor. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale.
Surviving is her cousins Virginia and George Neimeyer of Palos Park, IL; friends Dave and Sharon Flederbach of Bethany, Mike and Amy Flederbach of Honesdale and Sue and Andy Dutton of Bethany. She is also survived by her cat and friend GA.
Cremation was held at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 20th at 10am at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale.
