Carl Delton Bennett

April 22, 1932 ~ July 11, 2012

Carl Delton Bennett, born April 22, 1932, entered into rest on July 11, 2012, in Brewster Washington, following an extended illness. Carl was one of eight children born to Charley and Bertha (Ruston) Bennett in Miller, SD. He moved with the family to the Wenatchee Valley in his early years. He attended school in Wenatchee and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1950. Following high school, he worked as a cowboy and farm hand for a number of wheat and cattle ranches in North Central Washington, including the Norby, Hunt, and Dezellem ranches in Bridgeport, until he hired on with the Douglas County PUD and worked out of the Bridgeport Office, then transferring to East Wenatchee, where he worked as a warehouseman/equipment operator, until his retirement in June of 1994. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local 191. He was an avid woodworker making projects for his yard, his friends, or one of the many organizations he belonged to, like the Wenatchee Eagles, American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. He made everything, from sculptures and puzzles, to wheelchair ramps. He was a good singer and throughout the 80's and 90's graced many a karoke night in Wenatchee Nightclubs. In addition, he was a talented musician playing both the guitar and piano. He enjoyed bowling, golf, pool, and playing cards.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Newberry (Hugh) of Cashmere; two sons, Terry Bennett (Lorri) of Edmonds, Gary Bennett (Shannon) of Mukilteo; and two daughters, Cherrie Cool (Rod) of Chelan, and Cindy Huey (Steve) of Brewster; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren; and his many friends in the Eagles, Legion, and Moose.
