Mary Anne Gabby Morrison died in childbirth in 1805 giving birth to Hannah near Greensburg in Westmoreland Co PA. Hannah was "wet-nursed" by a woman named Hannah Moore, hence her name Hannah Moore Morrison. When she was very young, her father Captain James Morrison, went off to the War of 1812 (where he was killed) and placed her and a brother, John, in bondage, to a nearby family. Later her older brother found they were not being fed enough, paid her bondage, and took her to live with her oldest sister, Jeanette Starrett in Muskingum Co. Ohio.
