Laura A. Clark Marsh Vancise, 79, of Manton, Mich., formerly of Venus, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 12, 2001, at the home of her daughter in Manton. Born Feb. 2, 1922, in Seneca, she was a daughter of Albert Henry and Grace Esther Smith Clark.

Mrs. Vancise was a lifelong resident of the Venus and Seneca area and was a 1940 graduate of Cranberry High School. She was employed at Oil Well Supply in Oil City and did private duty nursing in various homes. Mrs. Vancise was a member of the Venus Pilgrim Holiness Church.

She loved to read, crochet, sing, sew, travel and help others.

Mrs. Vancise first was married June 17, 1944, to Floyd E. Marsh, who died Dec. 9, 1967. She then was married July 31, 1981, to Marvin Allen Vancise, who died Aug. 3, 1999.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, Mrs. Vancise was preceded in death by five brothers, Harry, John, William, Homer "Burt" and Henry Clark; four sisters, Hannah Wise, Susan Lambert, Ida Clark and Bertha Anderson; two grandchildren, Rebecca A. Richardson and Laura M. Richardson; and one stepchild, Cartherine L. Vancise Bishop.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Faller Funeral Home, Fryburg, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in the Venus Pilgrim Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Donald C. Myers, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Craig Hill Cemetery, Fertigs. The family suggests memorials be made to the Venus Pilgrim Holiness Church, Venus, 16364.
