Zelma "Goldene" Bailey Shelburn Mallonee, 80, left this world on the evening of Nov. 30, 2000, after a long a courageous fight for life due to complications of cardiac bypass surgery. She was born in Ava, Mo., May 28th, 1920 to Frank and Ada (Sivils) Bailey. She was preceded in death by the father of her three girls, Frank Joseph Austin. On June 27th, 1953, she married Orville Spencer Shelburn. They traveled the world together for 38 glorious years. She was an employee for the city of Springfield for 26 years and retired in 1982. She was a member of the Business and Profesional Women's Club, Eastern Star and an active volunter at Southside Senior Citizens Center. Love has no boundaries or limits and she was blessed to find someone else in her life, Thomas Franklin Mallonee, whom she married on September 9th, 1992. He also preceded her in death. Her zest and love of life was insurmountable and her favorite hobbies included dancing, travel, and playing canasta. She is survived by her three daughters, Betty Collins and son-in-law Orie; Frances George, and Linda Austin; four grandchildren, Tammie May, Tim Collins, Ron Collins, and Russ George; two great-grandsons, Curtis and Cory Collins.
Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
