The family story as told says they immigrated around 1858 to the US first to NY, then to Wisconsin and finally settling in Wabasha County, Minnesota around 1858. Her father died in 1862.
In 1895 when her brother JOHN FOX wife died, Sarah came to help him raise his 4 children. Two of those children died young at age 6 and 7. When Sarah's youngest brother Michael Fox's wife Emma died in childbirth in 1899 - Sarah and her brother John took the youngest Emmett Edwin Fox to raise. She helped raise Emmett with brother John's two children Leo Michael Fox and Johanna "Hannie" Fox first in Elora, Pembina, ND and later in Minneapolis. She invited Emmett and his family to move in with her in Minneapolis and left her home on 630 Ontario to them.
In her later years Sarah ran a boarding house in Minneapolis and died at age 86 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
