Mary Pilar Abdo went to be with her Lord Friday, July 6, 2007. She was born March 21, 1921, in Beeville, to the late Adelida and Jose Valderama. She was a retired seamstress who will be remembered as a great cook and tamale maker. She was a member of The Jesus Church.
Mrs. Abdo is survived by her daughter, Hope Garza and husband, Nato, of Texas City; sons, Michael Gomez and wife, Nancy, and Benny, all of Victoria; sister, Julie Brown of Tennessee; fourteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, two sisters, one brother, one grandson and three great-grandsons.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 9, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, at The Jesus Church, with the Rev. Alvin Kight officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Martinez, Antony Martinez, Benjamin Martinez, Johnny Camacho, William Lira and Richard Ramirez.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Jesus Church.
Memorials may be made to The Jesus Church, 3402 N. Main, Victoria, TX 77901.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rosewood Funeral Chapels, 361-573-4546.
